surfreak
So I've been trying to get OSx86 onto my dad's (older) laptop: Gateway MX7120 Mobile AMD Athlon 64 processor 3400+ 2.19 GHz, 448 MB RAM 100 GB Fujitsu MHV2100AT PL HDD And I'm getting the beloved "Still waiting for root device" message. So far I've tried iDeneb v1.4:10.5.6, iATKOS v7: 1.5.7, and Kalyway 10.5.6, all return the same message. XP is currently installed on the laptop, nothing else. Tried creating an extra partition in HFS+ with GParted and all the following boot commands (as per http://www.infinitemac.com/f5/possible-sol...t-device-t1467/, and the wiki): -f -v -x -v platform=ACPI -v platform=X86PC -v rd=diskXsY -v (where I used "rd=disk0s3 -v" since that's where the HFS+ partition is located) None of these appear to do the trick (tried all with each DVD). Minimal tinkering with BIOS settings hasn't done much (such as disabling USB BIOS Legacy Support, switching the boot priorities around). I've read a bit about possibly installing new drivers, but can't seem to locate one for my hardware and am a bit in the dark on exactly what to do once I have them. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
