Shakabab
Hi. Been trying to get the JaS version of 10.4.6 up and running. Now I gather from the forum its even more picky on hardware then the earlier versions. However, the problem I'm dealing with seems of an other kind than discussed in various topics on the forum. To cut tot the case; i'm installing with the intel options (sse2), radeon option and wireless option. The installation process appears to be going well until the system tries to install the Oxford dictionary. It seems to hang on that point, or better it seems that some kind of CRC like check fails after that part of the install. Unfortunatly no debug information seems available other than the message I should try starting again from scratch with a reinstall. Now, has anyone else experienced this problem or does anyone know how I can get myself some sensible debug information? Im eager to solve this problem, although 10.4.5 ran great on my laptop Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/17570-jas-1046-errors-during-installplease-restart/ Share on other sites
edav
Hi Shakabab, Hmm... I would recommend to reinstall 10.4.5 and stay with that. If you really need 10.4.6 (but I suppose you don't), find a patched 10.4.5 to 10.4.6 update package : don't use the Software Update utility. edav. Shakabab
Actually installing 10.4.6 was recommended by a friend who claimed it might solve my issues with the intel 2200 wireless card (centrino platform) and my ati card (x700). I couldn't actually find any proofs of these claims on the forum since little info is out there about 10.4.6 so I figured I'd give it a go. As you can see, no luck yet :-) Any ideas about the claims would be welcome, after all I did see a wireless driver and ati driver kit in the installation package of the disc.. and I was curious wheter or not it would enable graphics or wireless. edav
About x700, I don't know : check HCL, starting from 10.4.4. About wireless, Intel 2200 are mostly Intel chip based (VEN_ID is 8086) and not recognized by OSX86 edav.
