dvsala
I've been trying to follow installation procedures to install the iPC OSx86 version 10.5.6 on my Compaq 700 laptop computer. It's a TK-55 AMD 64 Athlon x2 processor, 2Gigs of Ram, 120Gb HD, and I am using my entire hard drive for the installation. Can some please direct me through the installation step by step? I've been working on this for a long time without success. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you. dvsala
Well, Basically I have been trying to install this OSX86 for over 3 days with no success. There are many things that I don't know what to do. I don't know what things I should have checked in the customization. I've tried many different ways of doing this, I've heard that I need Voodoo installed (for AMD 64 Athlon x2)in my Kexts, but other than that, I don't know what I should include in the basic installation that is set for my computer. I don't know why this keeps messing up. Is there anyone out there that has experience putting this on a Compaq F730US computer before? What settings should I have for my video (Nvidia GeForce Go 6100), sound card? wireless? etc. I have my entire HD dedicated to this installation. How should I setup the different things to make them work? Thanks! dvsala
1. I put the DVD into the disc drive 2. I load up the installer (which takes awhile) 3. I enter the disc utility and format my hard drive for Mac osx journaled I don't know about this GuiD or MBR thing. I normally just use the default 4. I choose the hard drive and then I click on customize 5. I choose voodoo kernel because people have said that it works best with AMD 64 Athlon X2 6. I go through the installation and then wait a LONG time 7. It says that the installation is successful 8. I reboot and it gives me the grey screen with the apple logo and then a little bit longer a crossed circle meaning that something is wrong I am hooked up to a wireless logitech keyboard and mouse since the laptop keyboard and track pad doesn't work Any ideas on what I should use in the customize section of the installation? What am I doing wrong? Thanks David Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/175534-installation-problem/#findComment-1204160 Share on other sites
