Hi all,

I installed jas 10.4.6 dvd on a Fujitsu-Siemens amilo 1536, set up grub to boot from the OSX partition, but the system wont start. The kernel loads fine, but wnen the gui starts i get stuck on the "Starting Mac OSX..." welcome screen.

In verbose mode, everything seems to load well into, except for [[AppleHDA: unable to locate 'layout-id' property]]...

I think some service is hanging up my pc while starting up. Is there a way, or a log file i should inspect to see what is wrong? I can examine my HFS volume by launching the terminal from the installation dvd.

Try booting with the -x option and see if it works first.

If not: when you first ran the installation using the installation DVD, and after you select the partition to install on, did you make sure to click the "Customize" button and and select the option to install the AMD and SSE2 Patches?

Also, I believe kernel panic logs are kept in the panic.log file in /Library/Logs

HDA stands for High Definition Audio, so AppleHDA.kext is the kernel extension for your audio device...

You have to dig in this direction, IMHO and follow Vinayp recommendation.
