edridh Posted July 15, 2009 Share Posted July 15, 2009 Hi guys, I've tried installing on this set-up a number of times in the past so I want to get it perfect this time. Firstly in the BIOS I should presumably have ACHI enabled (is this still required) - I'm unsure about all the legacy IDE settings etc. - I have my Hard Drive plugged in to the top yellow sata port (which I believe is on the ICH8 chipset) and my disk drive is plugged into a purple one. Are they both best on the purple chipset at least for install? And then my main question is what packages do I need for my config I've gathered nvinject0.21 for 256mb will suit my 8600gt. Will I need the jmicron legacy IDE drivers if I'm not planning on running anything IDE? Presumably not. There's also a hell of a lot of fixes, which do I need, which not. What driver do I need for my RALINK RT61 wireless card. I know I've got a lot of questions, if there's a page that explains all the packages that'd be awesome.
