Does anyone have a firewire Mbox working on a Gigabyte EX58 board? I've tried a few different bootloaders/installs, but I can't seem to get the computer to recognize the Mbox. It doesn't show up in system profiler or in the Mbox preference panel. The Mbox just has the blinking amber light.

My usb Mbox works great, but I have some sessions at 88.2kHz that I'd like to work on.

Thanks,

Ryan

it should work. my mbox 1 works fine too.

i had an issue with firewire in general before. Can you mount firewire hard drives etc..

in the default install of OSX86 there is a selection (by default, to disable or remove firewire), just unselect that, when you do a new reinstall.

I recently had a problem with the AppleHPET.kext conflicting with my firewire port and sound card.

You can give this a try if U like. It is located in the System/Library/Extensions folder. Drag a copy out on to the desktop (backup) and then drag the S/L/E AppleHPET.kext into the trash. Authenticate (password). Reboot.

I haven't had any trouble running without AppleHPET.

Thanks for the responses. I'll give these a try on monday as the Mbox2 Pro is at my office right now.

Firewire seems to work for me otherwise. I get the full secure error when using Digital Dreamer's script, but firewire drives mount and I can run Pro Tools sessions off of them just fine.

Are you guys using Chameleon 2.0? That would be a relief to know that it could work even with the known firewire issue with 2.0RC.
