teeck Posted July 14, 2009 Share Posted July 14, 2009 I have been searching weather Hot Swap is possible in OS X on the u100 since it supports AHCI, but haven't found anything. Is this possible to do on the wind? I was under the impression as long as the chipset supported ahci you could SATA hot swap. The sata disks show up as aluminum icons and in the system profiler it says Removable Media: NO Detachable Drive: NO. Is there anyway to enable the removable/detachable option for the SATA HD's, maybe hack the AHCI kext to force it? I am running OS X off of usb and will be creating data that I would like to switch disks and write to different ones without having to restart. Thanks!
