Hello, I was just wondering if there is a seatbelt version that is compatible with OSX86 10.5.7. and if there is no such thing, is there a fix to .dmg mounting issues in 10.5.7

My current setup is the following:

I have iPC 10.5.6 which has been updated using "Apple Software Update" to 10.5.7 installed on an HP Pavilion dv8300 CTO notebook PC. (I don't think that the detailed specs of the notebook matter but it is an Intel/nVidia platform).

I would like to also state that I have already (but stupidly) tried the seatbelt version 10.5.6 and obviously it didn't work.

Here is information regarding my Kernel version that has been copied form Terminal:

Darwin david-san-miguels-hp-pavilion-dv8000-ex177av.local 9.7.0 Darwin Kernel Version 9.7.0: Tue Mar 31 22:52:17 PDT 2009; root:xnu-1228.12.14~1/RELEASE_I386 i386

If anything needs to be downloaded, a link would be nice...

...thank you

Extract seatbelt.kext from a 10.5.7 version and install with kexthelper (remove before the old)

Interesting.... I am interpreting this as I need to find someone else's OSX86 w/ a 10.5.7 w/ a working seatbelt.kext and get a copy of it??? .....

I had the same issue found this post yesterday.

Explains how to fix and gives a download.

I actually have seen this post before but I didn't pay attention to it because it explains what to do if you have the 9.5 Kernel or the 9.6 Kernel, but doesn't give any information about what to do if you have the 9.7 Kernel.

Also ... should I just get my hands on iAtkos 10.5.7?? Would that be easier?? The main reason that is holding me back is that everything seems to work on iPC; not to mention that iPC is Apple Update friendly... meaning... there is no extra work involved to install apple updates besides clicking the "check for updates now" button...

Is there a fixed seatbelt for 9.7.0 kernel?

You don't need a 'fixed' seatbelt.kext, you just need to install the version of seatbelt.kext (as well as system.kext) that matches your kernel version.

It's all explained in one of the sticky posts at the top of this forum.

Thanks, I didn't notice that AnV 1.4 installer replaced seatbelt, system and ipfirewall kexts.

Same question here.

I'm running 10.5.7 with 9.6.0 XNU kernel and seatbelt.

If upgrade to 9.7.0 get kernel panic after dmg mount.

Is there a fixed seatbelt for 9.7.0 kernel? Any problem running 10.5.7 with 9.6.0 kernel?

Thanks.

Hi to all.

You must use seatbelt.kext of the same version of the kernel:

kernel 9.5 seatbelt.kext of 10.5.5

kernel 9.6 seatbelt.kext of 10.5.6

kernel 9.7 seatbelt.kext of 10.5.7

The seatbelt.kext must be the same version of the kernel, not of Leopard.

Giorgio
