nisto91
I have tried iAtkos V7 unsuccessfully and then tried out Kalyway 10.5.2, it worked. Now i'm going through some problems. 1. I got my wifi working (it's a Linksys WUSB54GC) and have managed to get it started at boot without re-plugging. The thing is that it only starts if I try to put the computer to sleep. To get it started at boot I added -f. 2. My graphics card is an ATI x1250, I think it's not supported. I looked everywhere for some sort of solution and came out empty handed. I tried adding the correct resolution to the boot.plist but it didn't work. Also correlating to the graphics problem my mouse flickers when on java websites and when going over the dock. Itunes coverflow doesn't work either for some reason. 3. I can't freaking update the thing! I've tried all the tutorials and nothing, just a crashed system resulting in a reinstall, i've counted 7 reinstalls in two days. I'm on an AMD processor if it makes a difference, I even tried Zephyroths Asu but it didn't work. 4. I think this relates to me adding -f to the boot.plist, now whenever I boot it has the no smoking sign on top of the Apple logo. When I take out -f from boot.plist it boots normally. And those are all my problems, if I get everything working my computer would be awesome. Almost forgot, here are my specs: CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 dual Core Processor RAM: 3gb DDR2 Mob: F690GVM GPU: ATI Radeon X1250 HDD: ATA WDC WD3200AAJS-2 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/174124-post-installation-problems/ Share on other sites
mr_christer
have you tried installing the voodoo kernel? http://code.google.com/p/xnu-dev/ (download the dmg and install) it worked well for my amd system! kalyway 10.5.2 was the only release working for me. next, try updating to 10.5.5 ( http://support.apple.com/downloads/Mac_OS_..._5_Combo_Update ), i think this is the release the voodoo kernel is based on. just download the original apple update and update as it is. voodoo takes care of the rest when installed! if you want to update to 10.5.6 or 10.5.7 (not tested) you have to keep in mind to use the 10.5.5 seatbelt.kext for the graphics...you wont have luck getting the x1200 to work, x1600 or x1900 series work fine though! check for compatible cards in the wiki http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.ph...#Graphics_Cards Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/174124-post-installation-problems/#findComment-1196078 Share on other sites
