After installing iDeneb 1.4 with 10.5.6 I am unable to use TCP/IP over the network for more than a few mins.

I've tried my broadcom 4306 Belkin 53g card, after 3 mins or so it drops network link an is unable to find my WAP. Interestingly this is reported by the kernel as a broadcom 4320?

I've now switched to another network card, my netgear 311, with an RTL 8169 [10ec:8169] chip. This produces the same results.

I'm thinking that this is not a driver issue but mabe an OS networking stack problem? Console gives no clues and reports nothing when the network gets dropped.

ifconfig -a reports the network is up, with a valid ip address.

My system specs are :-

XFX 780i, Q6600, Netgear 311, PATA 20GB, 2xSATA 1TB, XFX 8900GTX, M-Audio 410

I am using the speedstep kernel if that also helps? and during install I selected Broadcom from the wireless and R1000 from the ethernet options to support the cards.

GFX video, sound, everything else works great! Straight from the install DVD.

Any suggestions?

EDIT: After some pain. I found a good work around was to use the onboard nForce ethernet adaptor. Using the latest version nForceLAN.kext. This worked flawlessley. Still don't know why lan would only work for a few mins. But it is entirely reproducable. Left here for prosperity and if anyone else has the same problem.
