Hey all,

I hope this is the correct section on the board for this question/problem. If not, feel free to move the topic.

I have tried to install Mac OSX Kaliway 10.5.2 on my above mentioned laptop. It's an old laptop, I know. I tried the iATKOS 10.5.5 before, but the kernel wouldnt allow it to boot.

With the Kaliway release I finally managed to boot Mac OSX to a certain point. The sleepkernel, speedstepkernel, and kabylkernel all boot, the others just end up in a reboot-loop.

However, the booting stops at some point. I load it up with the -v command, all seems to work. Then a grey screen appears with a mouse cursor. But then, thats it. Nothing happens. The harddrive seems to try to load something occasionally and the mouse cursor disappears after a while, only to reappear once I move the mouse. I would assume that this is supposed to be the point where I "set up" the OS?

I'm really at a loss here, I would greatly appreciate it if you guys could point me in the right direction. ;)

Here are some specs from the laptop:

Intel Pentium M 715 1.5 GHz 2MB L2 Cache

Intel 855GME, 400Mhz FSB

512 MB, DDR-SDRAM, 333 Mhz, 2x256MB

ATI Mobility Radeon 9700 - 64 MB

15.4 Zoll 16:10, 1280x800 Pixel, WXGA Glare Type TFT Display Harddrive 60GB 4200U/Min ATA100VGA-Out, Kensington, S-Video, LAN, Modem, 2x USB, PCMCIA, Firewire Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG DVD+/-RW Dual

I hope this helps!

Best regards,

Mike
