Eric Nail
Hello, I would be happy to help you. Could you please provide me with the following information: -What package did you install? -What exactly happens when you turn the computer on? (Elaborate on 'restarts' -- Like what happens after the bios screen) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/173345-gateway-fx-6000-restarts-before-darwin/#findComment-1191184 Share on other sites
ElecSeifer
Hello, I would be happy to help you. Could you please provide me with the following information: -What package did you install? -What exactly happens when you turn the computer on? (Elaborate on 'restarts' -- Like what happens after the bios screen) Thank you for helping Well What Happens is it starts up Like like normal then the boot-132 disks starts up and flashes about how it cant find something (it flashes too fast)then i get to the part where i switch the disk and press enter the put in the two digit cod (ef) and press enter then F8 then type in -v or any other combo of flags and press enter then a bunch of text flys by (loading HFS and stuff like that). And then the computer shuts down boots up and goes to windows (if i don't put the Boot-132 disk in fast enough). I am Using the non-modified version of Boot-132 in Here and the link discribe as "Download .ISO Original with project kexts (all your need is here - noobs try this first)" Because i be a complete noob i would try to download the modifed one but the link is down. ThinkMud
if you get this working please let me know! I have the same machine, but I am thinking of swapping out the mobo for one of the Gigabyte ones that i have read work. Anyone think the mobo in this machine is problem? if so, anyone suggest the best Gigabyte mobo to use for a core i7? i have 9 gigs of ram and would like to max that out eventually so I would need a mobo that can handle more... good luck with yours man, i haven't even started to try to install anything on my box yet, not until I find someone who has confirmed it works and I can use xcode....
