donaldj
Hello, I had a brainwave last night. I hooked my iphone into my OSx86 desktop, and turned on tethering (on the iPhone side), and I had internet. Since my phone was connected to my home network, the desktop just used my network too. Now, this wasn't that much of a breakthrough for me, because I already had my real network card working. My laptop, however, was a different story. It's an Acer Aspire One. When I plug in the iPhone, absolutely nothing happens. On the desktop, something popped up, and i just had to click "OK", and I was off to the races. No such luck with the AA1. Is there anything special I have to do on the laptop side of things to get it to work? Its an AA1, with 10.5.6 XXX installed. Thanks! Synaesthesia
Maybe go to System Preferences -> Network see what's showing there. If it's nothing, I don't know! Try deleting some network adapters! donaldj
Maybe go to System Preferences -> Network see what's showing there. If it's nothing, I don't know! Try deleting some network adapters! I tried that, and nothing is appearing. With my desktop, a new adapter automatically appears.
