keef
In the SpeedBoost in the Wiki, it says to type platform=X86PC at the Darwin Boot Screen. My problem is that although it does splash something about Darwin on bootup, there's no prompt to type anything and not nearly enough time to. What am I doing wrong? "Super Speed Boost At the Darwin Boot Screen type this: platform=X86PC Note: This disables all ACPI functions and also disables HyperThreading. In addition it may also cause your system to not boot." edav
Hi keef (again) In the SpeedBoost in the Wiki, it says to type platform=X86PC at the Darwin Boot Screen. My problem is that although it does splash something about Darwin on bootup, there's no prompt to type anything and not nearly enough time to. What am I doing wrong?Press <Ctrl> before Darwin bootloader splash appears or change <key>Quiet Boot</key> <string>Yes</string> to <key>Quiet Boot</key> <string>No</string> in your /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist file I'm afraid that 'platform=X86PC' is no more usefull in 10.4.6, anyway. But I'm not sure. edav. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/17300-quick-speedboost-question/#findComment-111683 Share on other sites
