Hi,

So, my hackintosh has been working just fine for several weeks. Yesterday, though, I tried to move a bunch of files from an NTFS drive into itunes; it sat there for a long time and then gave me some permissions-related error, which unfortunately I didn't note down.

Following a restart, I am having the following problem: various installers and other applications are freezing up with the spinning beachball. For example, I'm trying to install NTFS-3g/FUSE; I mount the dmg and then run the installer - the first screen comes up but it then sits there on the beachball forever, and Finder shows it as "Application not responding". Software Update is doing the same thing - it starts running but after a few seconds also shows as app not responding.

Any ideas as to possible solutions would be much appreciated; let me know if there's any additional information I can provide!
