Fostot Tiddlywinks Posted June 20, 2009 Share Posted June 20, 2009 I am very new to this in terms of building a vanilla system and have had quite a bit of trouble sifting through the 100 different answers for every single question that all differ and was hoping I could get some opinions on the following hardware I intend to buy. I am wanting a system I can install Vanilla on with no other OSX involved (as I don't have a mac I'm wanting to build one). GigaByte GA-EP45-UD3LR Intel Core 2 Duo E7400 Wolfdale 2.8GHz LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor Model BX80571E7400 G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel F2-8500CL5D-4GBPK Antec Three Hundred Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case SAMSUNG DVD Burner Black SATA Model SH-S223L ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 7 Pro 92mm CPU Cooler This should be all i need. I have some Western Digital 320gb 7200RPM HD's at home (Sata II). Please let me know if this will work Vanilla install with the ability to do software updates using the Chameleon 2 EFI boot disk? I went to fry's to pick up this hardware and there were actually 5 different guys there as well building their own hackintosh systems.
