Hello,

Yesterday I finally was able to install mac os x leopard on my pc, using kalyway 10.5.2 dvd. I have couple of minor problems like internet and sound drivers but the major thing is that, none of the things on the menus are visible. when i click on the apple at top left corner, i only see a blank, grey rectangle. it's the same for any pop up menus that appear on right click as well. I am stuck with the desktop screen since i'm virtually paralized with no chance to interact with anything.

is there any solution for this? I suspect it might be about the display driver. it had recognized dual display and 1680x1050 resolution though. it is palit nvidia 9800 gt 512mb, and during system set up i selected nvinject-512.

thanks in advance.

Not sure, I think you need to be running minimum 10.5.5 or later to use a 9xxx series NVidia card with unmodified kernel extensions. Even if the injector or device properties string you're using has your card's device ID in it, the kexts still need to be compatible. I think the 10.5.2 kexts only go up to 8xxx series cards.

Try installing the graphics update for 10.5.2, you can find it at apple.com.

You can also try these drivers by Aqua-mac, they should work on 10.5.2 but I don't know if he modified them to work with your 9800 card as well. If not, you may be able to get it to work by inserting your video cards device ID in the appropriate plists (if you don't know what I'm talking about, there are plenty of tutorials available, search).

But you should try to update to at least 10.5.5 to get the most out of your hardware.
