I installed it on my Gateway m275. The pen doesn't work yet. I just installed it on Wednesday (May 10), and have only used it once. I think that some people got it working under Linux, and I have not checked Wacom's site to see if there are drivers for OS X on Intel. I kind of doubt it.

What would be interesting to try is if I had an emulated WinXP session running with MS OneNote, would the pen work then.

I will search some more and try to get it to work. It would be cool.

Some others have reported that a few pen devices work...

I would love to get it to work, just for the extreme geek factor of having a tablet mac.

I was also able to install OSx86 in my table pc (Gateway M280E also know as CX200 and CX200S) and get many things on it working (Got rid off the external monitor trick, fixed audio, fixed Sleep problem when lid is closed, able to go online but only through USB connection). The only thing I have not been able to get to work is my integrated wireless card and ethernet adapter. I have not tested the pen capabilities yet, but that will probably be next. I will be posting a long guide in how to get everything setup in my specific tablet pc model in the upcoming week.

How did you get it to boot? I have ann M275 also, and I boot it with the -v and it keeps trying to load the login screen for hours and doesnt go any further. Thanks!

The same thing happened to me the first time I tryied to install, and it just booted up to the blue screen and stayed there for hours. The thing is this: for some strange reason it needs to be connected to an external monitor in order for the installer to boot. There are two solutions for it: one is to connect an external monitor to the tablet pc and it will boot, but if you do not have a second monitor you need to do a little trick that someone created using a paperclip and I re-created it using a thinner and easier regular staple. I am putting together a tutorial on how to do the whole process of installing OSx86 on the Gateway Laptop, but it is not ready yet. I will be working on the staple trick tutorial this evening after I come back and put the link here so that you can take a look at the pictures and know how to build one for your laptop. Coming back to the topic, once you do either one of these the installer will come up and you will be on the go. Notice that to install Mac I did not use -v, just pressed F8 and Enter and the rest came alone. Check this thread later for a link to my tutorial, and I will also post it on a separate forum thread too.

I should have been more clear. I did get it installed and it seemed like the install work, but the logon screen never came up. it was the grey screen with the apple in the middle and the mouse cursor doing the waiting thing.

ill try the monitor when I get home though. THANKS!

Don't worry sid_vicious, you are still on the right track. The problem is the same as I mentioned yesterday. Even after you install Mac you will need the second monitor or paperclip/staple trick to be able to boot. Once you boot you can unhook the tv. Sorry I did not get to post the tutorial on how to build the staple trick, Ill try to make up some free time today and see if I can get started, assuming that I learn enough on my own a be able to get my server setup properly.

As I promised, here is the official post with the link on my new guide for installing OSx86 in my Gateway M280E Tablet PC. Included are all the fixes I used to get the most working features out of it. I also included pictures on how to build the Staple trick, for those that need it. Check it out and feel free to ask any questions or give comments on the official thread post or on my blog.

4 things I think are very important and need fixing in order of most urgent to least urgent:

1. Sleep Problem: Needs to sleep normally w/ lid shut too! No insomnia crapola.

2. Staple Technique: I dont want to have a staple in my serial port. It makes me feel uneasy...

3. Pen-tablet screen: That would be so FUN! (Thats the only reason I want a OSx86 Comp ;)

4. Ethernet-usb: Please fix. I want to be able to use the computer's regular Ethernet port.

If apple makes a notepad mac, nevermind this!

Gateway tablets aren't going to work, because they don't use Wacom digitizers... they use the FinePoint brand (which doesn't have Mac drivers as far as I know)

The M225 most certainly does utilize a Wacom digitizer as your can see from this screenshot.

Someone on this wiki says that they were able to get the tablet fully functional with osx.

If any of the wiser osx86 gurus could lend a helping hand on this matter I know I would greatly appreciate it. The lack of tablet functionality is what is keeping me from moving forward in my Kalyway 10.5.2 install. I did try once, but failed due to a rookie mistake of having the partition formatted improperly. I read on one thread that it's best to leave the partition unallocated. I will give that a try next.

Anyway I know that I have high jacked this thread, but it was old and only had one reply anyway. I'm sure the OP has moved on. I wish I knew if he had any success.
