Dave8128
Okay, I've installed OS X using vanilla kernel available in the XxX disk, But on reboot, both available EFI 9 and Chameleon loaders fail to Boot OS X. Unless, I enable the -x (or sometimes -s) boot flags, which results in no Network or Sound. Scouring the forums, I found posts relating to problematic graphics installs. But here's the thing. the Boot-132 loader loads OS X perfectly. My Intel GMA works with both CI and QE at my Dell Vostro 1510's default display. Sound works perfectly, WiFi, everything. Except, the boot up. I've tried the Chameleon 2.0 loader, nothing seems to work. I either hit the Apple Cross image, or a message telling me to reboot. (Dependant on bootloader) I'm at my wits end, and a hairbreadth from a perfect install. Justlurkin
Hmm... I ran across that a few times myself when trying to set mine up. I read in some systems you need to partition the HDD as a Master Boot Record partition (not GUID) for it to be able to boot properly using either PC_EFI or Chameleon. That's what I did and it worked (I'm using Chameleon with SMBIOS / DSDT). Maybe give that a go and see what happens. Good luck! Thanks for the reply, I'm using MBR (as I'm dual booting with Windows) and using SMBIOS but not DSDT. I'll try adding DSDT and see if that makes any difference.
