I'm going to try this again since my post appearntly didn't show up last time, or something. I don't know.

I'm about to build a new computer to replace my 5 year old one and the goal is to get OSX86 and Ubuntu to dual boot. I've read quite a bit on here and in the wiki but I still have some questions/concerns before I go buy parts. The two OSs will be spread over 6 hard drives, with three of them being in Raid5. I currently plan to have 1 HD dedicated entirely to OSx86, 1 HD to Ubuntu, 3 in Raid5 for the Ubuntu /home drive and then one general storage drive where I can share files between the two OSs.

For hardware, the only part that I am recylcing from my old computer is an EVGA 8600GT graphics card. I think this should be fine, but if it isn't, I'm not too opposed to getting a new one that would be more compatabile.

As for a processor, I am hoping to get a Phenom II X4 955. From what I have read on the forums and in the wiki is that most people don't have a lot of luck getting this processor to run well. I am willing to get an Intel i7, but only as a last resort. Its important to me that OSX86 runs fast and stable in my setup, so getting compatiable hardware is my number one concern. Does anyone have any suggestions on a motherboard to go with the Phenom II or should I just give up and go with an intel build? Either way, I hope to have 6gb of DDR3 ram.

Thanks
