aristaeus22
Last week, I successfully installed OSX Leopard 10.5 Toh RC2 on my computer. My computer is configured as follows. Asus P5GD1 Pro motherboard Pentium 4, 530 3.0GHZ (It has SSE3) 2x512MB DDR 400MHZ 2x Seagate SATA 160GB (currently one has Windows XP on it. The other is blank and will be used as my OSX drive. I "dualboot" my system by pressing F8 at the bios screen, normally it boots whatever's set as the master drive.) Geforce 6600 256MB Pretty much everything worked. The next thing I did was try to install PC efi and that completely screwed my system up to a point I had to reformat my OSX drive and do a reinstall in the future. So this time, I want to do things right. 1.I want to have Leopard and the ability to have updates from apple. I am guessing that means PC EFI, what would I have to do to achieve this?(and not screw my system up) 2.I read something about GUID install and how that means I won't lose my drivers if I choose to reinstall again and again, can anyone shed some light on this? 3.And also, what driver would I need to get OSX to let me use dualview(very important to me) with my Geforce 6600? I tried NVinject 0.20, 0.21, natit dual 0.1, natit dual 0.2 and none of them let me dualview. They would let me either use DVI or VGA but not both at the same time. Without any drivers installed, OSX will automatically mirror my two displays (DVI and VGA). 4.And final thing: how much space does time machine need if I periodically use it to backup say...once every week? Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance for your words of wisdom Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/167109-where-to-now/ Share on other sites
