Im about to buy a new computer, which is going to be my computer for the next few years, and when I saw about the whole Mac Intel thing going on, I thought, Ive got to do that as well!

I decided to try and get a specification so that it can work natively, and I want to know if you think it will work. Thanks

Tech Spec:

AMD Athlon 64 3800+ Socket 939 Venice

Gigabyte K8VT890-9 motherboard or an ASUS motherboard (not sure on this yet, because I might get it built in a local shop, or buy a configured pc from mesh computers.)

Nvidia 6600 PCI-E

1GB of Crucial DDR 3200

TV Expert Tuner

Any DVDRW

Seagate 160GB SATA

Anything else that needs to be ready to be compatible? Im really not quite sure, and seeing as your all experts now, I thought I'd ask :D

Thanks in advance everyone!

Well, according to http://www.tomshardware.com/cpu/20041221/i...ble_amd_big.gif

It supports SSE3, so that should be fine shouldn't it?

On the wiki, that huge long list? http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/HCL This one? I cant understand a word its saying, its all over the place.

It would be alot easier if it was just a list of processors under the title, then you could choose from which one you want, then graphics cards, so on so forth.

# Geforce 6800,6600 - No QE, No CoreImage, VESA 3.0 1280 /60HZ only <-- mine keeps staying at 1024x768.. whats a good parameter for 1280?

or

#  Radeon X700-series PCIe - VESA 3.0 1600x1200 at 60Hz --- How? On my laptop, I'm only able to get 1024x768 --> do not use refresh rate tag

# Radeon X700AGP(with rialto bridge) - VESA 3.0 supported

What does this mean if I want either of these cards?

Yes that does alot, thanks...

Ah well, screw that then! The rest of its mainly compatible, and compatibility will get better when a final release is made.

But the motherboard is still a worry. I can live with a slightly unsupported graphics card, but the motherboard has so be compatible. And I didnt see the ASUS A8NE-FM on the list :S
