I was curious what tutorial and rls of OSx86 is best for my Dell 2400? It has an Intel P4 2.8ghz SSE2 processor, I am about to reinstall a fresh copy of Windows XP Pro SP3. The tutorial I was about to use was from 2007, I just wanted to make sure if there was something newer/better. Doesn't matter to me if it is Dual Boot or just runs OSX either way is fine.

Thanks for your help!!

I installed it successfully on same machine last week. I haven't used any particular tutorial but mixed many of them.

Here are some comments of my installation, may be it will help :

- I used iAktos 5i, some other distribs were crashing.

- It is possible to use a USB flash drive for installation.

- The integrated GPU is not recognized and can only display in dirty black and white. You'll need a PCI graphics card for a proper display or Timbuktu for remote use (Apple Remote Desktop and VNC don't work).

However, I could install it with the dirty display using screenshots of installation process found on the web.

- I installed the TOH kernel with chameleon as bootloader.

- iAktos 5i has an optional driver for the integrated ethernet card (Broadcom 440X*) that you should select as well.

- Once installed, using Pacifist, extract the modified "AppleIntelPIIXATA.kext" and replace the installed one ('/System/Library/Extensions/IOATAFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/') for better disk performances.

Good luck !

(Sorry for my bad English, it is not my primary language).
