sdelic
Ok, I'm hoping someone here can point me in the right direction.. After a long time putting it off I finally decided to upgrade my XPS 410 hackintosh! I downloaded the ideneb 1.4 (10.5.6) dvd and went to town.. Everything works great, the nic (not internal), video, sound, etc. I was amazed at the ease of install. However there is one problem... My 2nd and 3rd SATA2 drives are SLOW! I mean like 1 mbit a second slow! But the main system drive which is too a SATA drive is just fine. The SATA ports & hardware are as follows: 1 - System Drive Western Digital WDC WD360GD-75GHA0 2- DVD - TSSTcorp DVD+/-RW TS-H653A 3 - 2nd SATA Maxtor 6L200M0 5 - 3rd SATA Seagate ST3250820AS I've tried the following: Installing the latest IOATAFamily.kext I also tried this: Use RAID / Auto!! You will find to be able to use it on RAID setting or RAID/Auto setting you need to add the Device ID to your AppleAHCIPort.kext <key>ICH8RAHCI</key> <dict> <key>CFBundleIdentifier</key> <string>com.apple.driver.AppleAHCIPort</string> <key>Chipset Name</key> <string>ICH8-R AHCI</string> <key>IOClass</key> <string>AppleAHCI</string> <key>IOPCIPrimaryMatch</key> <string>0x28218086 0x28228086</string> <key>IOProbeScore</key> <integer>2000</integer> <key>IOProviderClass</key> <string>IOPCIDevice</string> <key>Vendor Name</key> <string>Intel</string> </dict> I'm not sure what else to try, anyone have any ideas? The weird thing is my system drive is just fine but the seagate and maxtor both are SLOW, they are not even usable. I've tried swapping sata cables, switching around ports, etc. ALSO: Before in my SATA operation settings in the BIOS I was using AUTO/RAID but that will not work with this distro so I'm having to use RAID-ON.
