Hi there!

First time poster here, so I apologise if I forget to include some vital information.

I was directed here from a friend that just bought a mac because I really liked the look and feel of Leopard and wanted to try it myself. After reading some info on insanelymac i found out that the motherboard I'm using would be perfect for a hackintosh, but after several failed attempts I really think I could use some advice on what to do. :)

The computer specs are;

Asus P5W DH Deluxe MB

Intel Core 2 Duo E6700

2GB DDR2 Memory

ATI Radeon 1950 Pro

So the thing is this;

The DVD i burnt with Nero 7 is bootable, and the drive is verified in the installer. After that, however, I get an error saying that some packet could not be copied. Now I know that my harddrive is not properly formatted, but when I double-click it I get the option to format it and I get to install.

Am I doing something wrong? Should I have installed something before trying to boot Kalyway's release? I've been trying to read up on this stuff but searching here yields so many results on my hardware combo that it would take me years to read thru the stuff. I've found some tutorials using Kalyway's release but I can't seem to find anything that pertains to my problem, and the images in the tutorials I have found are gone.

I've been working with computers for a long time, though I've never spent more than 5 minutes alone with a Mac so this stuff is a bit hard to get around for me.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Stian

Hi again.

I got it working on the second try today using this wonderful guide. Though not directed at my mainboard it really held my hand through the installing process.
