I just built a new PC w/ intel DX58SO w/core i7 920 and whenever I go to install OSX, it gets stuck at "still waiting for root device". my mobo only has sata, no ide. the harddrive is set to be the master, any idea what's going on? anyone else have this issue? any help would make me a very happy person. Don't know if you had any luck yet, but I was able to install using a usb cd drive. After the install, SATA cd works fine (make sure AHCI is selected in bios). Actually, i didn't have a true usb cddrive lying around, I just plugged an extra IDE cd drive into a usb harddrive case I had after breaking it open.
