kirschgarten
Is it possible to change the default boot system from OS X to Windows? I'm mainly using Windows and it is kind of annoying that I always have to "force" the computer to start in Windows instead of OS X. Synaesthesia
Yes, make Windows partition active and use the Chain0 method, or use Acronis Boot Loader. kirschgarten
Thanks. I managed to make the Windows partition active with the Windows utility "diskpart". That means, however, that the computer starts without choice into Windows - and that's also not what I want. I changed it therefore back to "normal" and also changed the bootloader waiting time (before it boots automatically into OS X) to 60 seconds. The Chain0 method I do not really understand (and I also found many postings in various forums that it does not work) and the Acronis Boot Loader I would have to buy. So I guess I have to live with it as it is - much better now with the 60 second delay. My dream is that one day someone provides us with a driver for the stock WLAN card. Or I find many reports of people who switched the card and are happy with it under Windows and OS X. The missing WLAN is the main (if not only) reason that I went back to Windows on the 1000HE. And I have to say that the stock WLAN card is simply terrific with Windows! With my old Windows notebook I had exactly one network to use - my own. Now I have five or six and used already three of them successfully. For OS X I bought a USB WLAN adapter from Trendnet but unfortunately it does not work very well (and looks ugly on such a beautiful computer).
