Successful Installation on Asus P5e WS Pro

This is what you need:

1. iPC 10.5.6 DVD Disk

2. SATA HDD (Used Different Types and all of them worked)

3. SATA DVD or LG External DVD Writer (IDE will not work after Installation so don't use JMicron chipset)

4. XFX NVIDIA GF 9800 GTX or PNY NVIDIA GF 9600GT

5. I used Intel E4700 CPU and 8GB DDRII 667MHz from Kingston

6. 9f9installer.pkg (For Graphics)

 

Before this adjust the BIOS to AHCI for SATA and disable JMicron, and enable Firewire and the 2 NICs (88E8056) also make sure your BIOS boots the DVD First or you would have to select it manually at POST after pressing F8

 

1. Install the OS on the HDD after you format it completely with Disk Utility (Use MBR option)

2. Choose ACL 888 Legacy as the Audio Card Driver

3. Choose Yukon88e8056 for The 2 NICs

4. Choose osx86Tools (Part of Applications) (1-3 are accessable from Customize during with OSX installer)

5. Finish the Installation and then Reboot the system even if errors appear

6. Install 9f9installer.pkg with the defaults

7. Restart the system

8. Use osx86tools to enable first level of quartz

9. Restart the system

10. Use the same tool to add graphics extension to boot loader with the graphics card settings of GF 9600GTS (yes this will 100% work and would enable quartz extreme graphics even if it would not match 9800or 9600 in number) (Add EFI String/Boot Flag)--->GFX Strings

---->9600GTS

11. Restart the system and then your graphics card will be 100% supported

12. For Audio choose First Line out as in the attachment
