Terabyte86 Posted April 30, 2006 Share Posted April 30, 2006 How do you set the mic boost for your microphone in the sound properties? I have mine maxed out but it still isn't loud enough. I need a mic gain, boost, or amplification to get my mic to work. Any ideas? Hoping there was a new driver ported for ac97 that included a mic boost. If that's the only way then amp here I come. Sound cards and USB audio devices often have built-in +20 dB amplifiers that amplify the signal without adding noise. Is there really no way to turn on this amplifier from OS X? The only control I can find is the standard gain slider.
