Not able to restore Time Machine after 10.5.6 update

Okey, I've been using Leo & TM since 10.5.1, and have never before experienced problems when restoring from a TM backup.

Now I had to restore for the first time after the 10.5.6 update.

After entering the Install DVD and selection "Restore from system backup" I get to the warning text, and after that when I press continue I get a spinning wheel. (Before I even get to see the backups to choose from).

 

I read about this issue with 10.5.6:

but it didn't help.

 

Anyone experienced the same, and how did you solve it?

 

And last, is there any other way to go for restoring the OsX partition, which I have backed up in a whole.
