niteman1969
Hi There, sorry about this guys I just want to know what to install to the HDD from the DVD i.e what patches to configure at startup - as I heard 10.4.6 has a never kernel specifically for the features of a dual processor board - I wondered if the new kernel is on this release as myzars 10.4.5 apparently doesn't have it. My Specs Intel GA-8i945GMF Motherboard Built in GMA950 I945 express chipset ICH7 - sata Built in Marvel 8035 Network Card Built in Realtek ALC882 soundcard -disabled using creative instead as I need audio-in as well as out. Intel Pentium D805 Dual Core 2.66 Processor (2 Prescott Cores 2x1mb Cache) 1GB DDR2 400 Dual Channel Ram (used in dual channel mode = ddr2 800 ???) 2 x IBM 200GB Sata Drives 1 x Pioneer DVD-R A07 As I said really need to know what patches etc to install from DVD to get the best performance out of this setup. Many thanks in advance Niteman1969 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/16291-installing-osx-from-jas-1046/ Share on other sites

niteman1969
djdan2006 - why would I need to install sse2 and sse3 patch ? Surely only the sse3 patch would be required ??? Pentium dual processors have sse3 support. MacMerlin
Hey niteman1969, I have nearly the same hardware, an Intel D945GNT mobo and an Intel Pentium D 805+ (the dual core 2.66). Have you had success booting with both cores enabled? If I don't disable one core in the Intel bios boot loader then 10.4.6 will not boot, it stays at the white apple screen, but no clockwise little spinning wheel appears. If I disable (actually enable sw single proc mode in the bios) then it boots fine. pls let me know if you've had success booting both cores. thanx, Merlin Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/16291-installing-osx-from-jas-1046/#findComment-108734 Share on other sites
