spearson
My question is pretty straightforward: I have an OS X 10.5.6 DVD. I want to put its contents on a USB flash drive in a manner such that the bootloader is also copied. The operation will be from Windows. Here are my thoughts: - Format USB flash drive with HFS (how?) - Use Macdrive software to view contents of DVD - Drag and drop contents into flash drive - Install boot sector onto USB flash drive (how?) First of all, is this the correct process? If so, how do I do steps 1) and 4)? I checked on the net, and there are plenty of guides on how to install Mac OS X *onto* a USB flash drive, but hardly any (that aren't completely outdated) that explain the *from*. To be precisely clear: I want to use my USB flash drive as though it were a Mac OS X 10.5.6 DVD. Hmm, I see there is a guide here: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=154853. Looks like I'll have to install OS X to properly format my USB flash drive. Boo :< Oh well I don't have much to do these days..
