RockMySocks10
Hello, sorry I'm a bit of a noob, I currently have Vista installed and I was trying to install iATKOS on a separate partition, and I got to the point where there is all the scrolling text, it scrolls for a while then gets stuck on "ERROR: Firewire unable to determine security-mode; defaulting to full-secure" then keeps repeating "Still waiting for root device" my specs are Intel Quad Core 2.4ghz cpu ATI 4850 gpu 4GB ram I do have a firewire port on my computer if that means anything, nothing was plugged into it though. If someone can help me I'd be very grateful, thank you! fbrozovic
Is your LAN adapter (Ethernet Card) onboard or a plugin PCI(-e) Card? If its a card, try to remove it from the system. --filip95 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/161627-im-having-trouble-installing-iatkos/#findComment-1132263 Share on other sites

Beerkex'd
Set your SATA drive controller to AHCI mode in the BIOS. If it doesn't have AHCI, try setting it to RAID mode. If your HDD is PATA, then you probably didn't install the right drivers for the PATA controller. If none of that means anything to you then look in your motherboard manual, and look up PATA, SATA and AHCI on Wikipedia. If you don't know about your drives, open your PC case and see where they are plugged in on the motherboard. Then compare with the drawing in your manual. If you don't have a manual you can download a .pdf copy at the motherboard manufacturer's website.
