comopasta
Hi, I've been reading around but really didn't find a clear guide to install iATKOS 5i on Thinkpad T41 I did try iATKOS v1 and didn't really start installing anything. I then tried with iATKOS 5i and it actually got me through the installation. But when it restarts it doesn't boot, it enters a loop and starts rebooting itself few seconds after the Apple splash screen is shown. I've tried it two times, the first time it didn't use the customize, the second time I did use customize but probably didn't put the right settings there? Does anyone have the right selections in the customize for the T41? I would appreciate any help, I'd really like to try Mac. comopasta
Hi, I got some progress with the T41. I used now Kalyway 10.5.2 and got the installation done and booting up, it takes about 10 minutes to boot (I guess it can be reduced somehow), at least it has some sound and I can use the computer somehow. But I only installed sleep kernel and the ACPI fix. Following this post: http://www.hackint0sh.org/forum/f145/46270-3.htm Now I should try to find out how I need to add support for the wifi, better screen drivers and install some applications, like textmate. Just noticed that if I don't touch it for a while it freezes and I need to reboot it the hard way. I guess there will be some fix. If someone can give me a hand I'm interested now in: 1- Do I just copy from the CD the .kexts I want to try for the display and wifi to the System/Library/Extensions folder and reboot to see what happens? I guess I have to boot from the DVD and use the terminal to remove the same if something goes wrong. 2- I know textmate is in the DVD, how can I find it and install it now from there? 3- I'm not even sure what is the real HW my laptop has, what is the best way to find that, any tools available? Thanks. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/160830-osx86-on-t41-revisited/#findComment-1128593 Share on other sites
