Shadow_One
Hello, First of all let me describe my laptop: Asus PRO31U Mainboard: Asus F3U Processor: AMD Athlon 64 x2 @ 1,8 GHz 2GB DDR2 RAM 160GB SATA HDD: 2 partitions: one for OSx86 and one NTFS. ATI Mobility X1250 (256 MB taken from the RAM memory) Wireless: Atheros (i think...i didn't find anything for sure about this) LAN: Realtek (i don't remember the exact version) DVD-RW Now, let me say what distributions i tried: Leo4All (OSx86 10.5.2), Leo4All V4.1, IDenieb 1.4, IPC Universal PPF5 Final. I tried different DVDs: DVD-R, DVD+R with different speeds: 4x, 8x, 16x. With all these distributions, the same problem: during the install, the DVD stops working several times and i must move the mouse or press any key to begin reading the DVD again. It finalizes the installation and when i boot into OSx86, it freezes or it's repeating the process from the installation (i must move the mouse or press any key to continue working) until a "X" appears and then it's freezing. I tried different "Customizations" during the install with different drivers and kernels, but nothing's changed. What shall i do? Install Disk: It looks like you have burned at a slow speed which is important as even if a disk verifies there may still be issues which can cause problems during install. Burning at 1x would be preferable if that option is available. Installation: iDeneb 1.4 is a pretty solid distro so id go with it personally. You want to make sure that you do not choose any graphics options as this will still give you default 1024x768 graphics which you can later worry about getting hardware support for. Choosing the wrong option or multiple options for graphics can most likely cause problems. When you boot you want to always use the -v boot-flag so that you see useful information instead of the apple logo. You can then post on which line it hangs at. Possible Road Blocks: Im not too familiar with your graphics card but I have not run across any who has gotten full hardware support (QE/CI) This hardware support is not just for games as lots of applications require it just to run. System Specs: You can also place this information in your "Signature". It will then appear on every post you make. This can be done via My Controls: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?act...rCP&CODE=00 Please follow the rules described in this thread (Most importantly keeping your signature to no more than 5 lines of normal text: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...p;hl=signatures Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/160262-problems-installing-osx86/#findComment-1122434 Share on other sites
Shadow_One
Umm i know about the signatures and stuff ...i'm a webmaster and i own several boards. But i didn't have time to put the signature and this is the first post. I'll update my signature . i'll try to burn at 1x (long live the ol' desktop pc ) and i hope that will work Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/160262-problems-installing-osx86/#findComment-1122454 Share on other sites
