Scott R
I'm a long-time Thinkpad owner. I really like the trackpoint (pointing stick) and there aren't many other options that even offer that. I know that some of Dell's business-oriented laptops had it - I'm not sure if they still offer any/many that do. I'd like to get started with iPhone development, and I know that the development tools only run on OSX, so I have a few questions: 1) Is the trackpoint functional with OSX or only the touchpad? 2) Will the iPhone development tools work on a "hackintosh"? 3) Aside from hardware costs, what software costs are involved? Is the official OSX software only an upgrade? 4) I currently have the following Thinkpads - would either of these work especially well? If not, what can I buy fairly cheap online that should meet my needs? - X40 (2386-HCU) - T23 (2647-8PU) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/158656-osx-on-a-thinkpaddell-questions/ Share on other sites
Nick14
The X40 might work but i'm not sure about iPhone development tools will work becouse the Laptops grafic card isn't supported but An hackintosh is the same as a mac but it runs on PC Hardware but it's the same OS. Look at NC6220 on ebay it's fully supported and Will work with iPhone development tools but whats your Budget ? also look at the Thinkpad R61 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/158656-osx-on-a-thinkpaddell-questions/#findComment-1113090 Share on other sites
