I have this D945GNTLKR motherboard (and EVGA GT8800 512MB) since the 10.4.3 time and it works so well up to Kalway 10.5.2. Since I don't find any more update from the Kalway release, I start trying other flavor (tried iDeneb 1.3/1.4, iAKOS 10.5.5 and iPC 10.5.6) and none of them works for my system. With iDeneb and iPC, it installed but did not boot. Only flashing cursor. Tried different bootloaders and nothing works but a blinking cursor. On iAKOS, the OS booted but stuck on waiting for boot device error (I have ICHx drivers installed though). I have googled here and there and still have no clue why every version I tried failed. I miss Kalway so much which works so well right after the installation. Any one have any experience on this used-to-be-the-most-compatible old piece of hardware ? Any suggestion is welcome.

I sort of figure out what was wrong.

1. iDenbe did not install a bootloader. So I have to use the osx86 DVD to boot and install bootloader with OSX86 tools. Not sure why this is the case. I remember reading somewhere in iDenbe's documentation saying bootloader is installed by default.

2. After installation is finished, I have to use the following options to boot. rd=disk0s1 -f -x. After that, just boot the normal way.

3. The account I created using the apple welcome steps created only a standard user, not admin user. I have to go to single user mode and activate root account in order to change the user's priviledge. I did not know iDenbe does this and this definitely confuses a lot of people. (by default, the first account created on regular Mac is an admin)

Now the problem left is, I cannot get the 8800GT to recognize by the OS. I tried adding boot string using EFI studio and end up in constant rebooting. The driver comes with iDenbe does not work out of box.

After many day of trial and error, I sort of conclude that this mother board works only with Kalway 10.5.2. Any other distro beyond 10.5.3 does not work with this used-to-be-nice mother board. If any one has experience with this board, please contribute your experience here.
