failurbydesign
HOw do i use this on an USB flash drive? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/157661-asus-afudos/ Share on other sites
Beerkex'd
You need to make your flash drive bootable first. Google is your friend. If your ASUS motherboard is recent you can just press ALT+F12 (I think that's it, look it up) during POST to run the built-in BIOS flasher. Then your pen drive doesn't have to be bootable it just have to be formatted as FAT16/32. failurbydesign
Google is a great friend, but the method i tried failed and i'm unsure what i did wrong. Also the build in flasher wont downgrade to where i need to go on my P5QC i used this http://stevenwestwell.wordpress.com/2008/0...able-usb-drive/ Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/157661-asus-afudos/#findComment-1107276 Share on other sites
Beerkex'd
Yeah the built-in flash utility doesn't allow a downgrade. But you didn't say that was your plan. There's this old tool from HP that'll let you format a pen drive as bootable, but you need to provide the required system files yourself. It's very easy to use. I didn't check if the links work, if not this should at least give you something to go on: http://www.bay-wolf.com/usbmemstick.htm Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/157661-asus-afudos/#findComment-1107282 Share on other sites

Beerkex'd
google afudos readme or afudos.txt. Here's one of the hits.. the syntax depends on what version you're using so be careful. Try to get the latest version of the tool. http://forums.mydigitallife.info/archive/i...php/t-2255.html Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/157661-asus-afudos/#findComment-1107297 Share on other sites
failurbydesign
Ok here is the deal, i got it to flash, but it says the bios is too old, or that its not for my MB, but it is, would an older version of afudos fix this issue Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/157661-asus-afudos/#findComment-1107309 Share on other sites
Beerkex'd
Don't know, I've never used it myself. Try asking on an ASUS forum. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/157661-asus-afudos/#findComment-1107687 Share on other sites
