You need to make your flash drive bootable first. Google is your friend.

 

If your ASUS motherboard is recent you can just press ALT+F12 (I think that's it, look it up) during POST to run the built-in BIOS flasher. Then your pen drive doesn't have to be bootable it just have to be formatted as FAT16/32.

Yeah the built-in flash utility doesn't allow a downgrade. But you didn't say that was your plan.

 

There's this old tool from HP that'll let you format a pen drive as bootable, but you need to provide the required system files yourself. It's very easy to use. I didn't check if the links work, if not this should at least give you something to go on:

google afudos readme or afudos.txt.

 

Here's one of the hits.. the syntax depends on what version you're using so be careful. Try to get the latest version of the tool.
