Great fun, but still can not boot without the install DVD, neither use the wifi / wlan / airport feature (whatever). Shame on me to ask how to configure the keyboard for diferent languages. I just ended up reinstalling and making sure I removed the DVD before it rebooted after the install was complete, then it worked.
