danimal99
I used the guide a few months ago that described installing Kalyway up to 10.5.5 on an Acer Aspire One A150 netbook, which worked so well that I literally did it half drunk, and have since had a practically perfectly working install. But lately I've been thinking I needed to put 10.5.6 on it, especially with Safari 4.0 needing it, and I hadn't seen any guide explaining that. So last night, I downloaded the delta update from Apple, crossed my fingers, and did the same steps that the original guide at http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=129774 used to install the 5.4 and 5.5 updates. My graphics, sound, keyboard and trackpad quit working, but I then reapplied the sound and graphics kexts from the original guide, and found kexts from an MSI Wind post at http://www.appledifferent.com/2009/02/19/l...ky-1056-update/ that restored my keyboard and trackpad. (I didn't notice the warning at the top to not use this procedure on an AAO, but hopefully it just meant the graphics and sound parts. At any rate, the included kexts for the keyboard and trackpad worked fine.) So now I appear to be back to where I was before, with a stable 10.5.6. Are there any other things I need to do to bring this up to current? Does hibernate still not work, or is that fixed somewhere now? (I always just shut down via menus when I want to turn it off, but closing the lid would be soooo much more useful.) Did I do the right thing by applying the Apple update, and will that work in the future for like a 10.5.7? Thanks!
