im wondering if you guys can fill an OSX noob like me in on a few things concerning updating products and OSX.

Ive completed my install of OSX 10.5.2 using a version of Leo4All i obtained a while back. I installed using the vanilla kernel, Natit 1.0 for my graphics card, AppleHDA.kext for audio and Realtek R1000.kext for LAN. Those were the only fixes i have used.

So what do i do if i want to update to version 10.5.6? Can i use the automatic software updater or do i have to muck around with files and additional downloads to get it to work? There seem to be so many different ways to update that im completly confused.

My rig is as follows just incase you need it.

Core2Duo E8400 3Ghz

4Gb 800Mhz OCZ Gold RAM

nVidia 7600GT 256Mb

250Gb 7200rpm Vista x64 HDD

160Gb 7200rpm OSX 10.5.2 HDD

20x LG DVD +/- RW

thanks

thanks for the quick reply.. ill create a backup of my current installation and give it a try... ;)

Backups are absolutely the best way to go. There should be an update package floating around online. I used it to get from leo4allv3 to 10.5.5, but i can't remember where i found it. I think if you do a normal software update you have to follow netkas' instructions.
