Rusty88 Posted March 8, 2009 Share Posted March 8, 2009 Hi i'm beginner at installing osx on PC. It took me three days to install it but now it seems that everything is working just fine. But sometimes all of a sudden i get following kernel panic : And i don't know how to fix it or what fix should i be looking for My configuration : iDeneb 10.5.5 updated to 10.5.6 voodoo kernel Core 2 duo E6400 ASUS P5B DELUXE 2x1 gig Corsair dominator RAM NVIDIA 7900 GTO (working qe/ci{that took like 15 hours to fix + i had to flash bios for 512 VRAM recognition}) pci sound card Sound Blaster Audigy 4 usb wifi adapter by Dlink and everything is working - sound - wifi - multimedia keyboards on my logitech keyboard - usb ports - fixed kernel panic after opening .dmg it's just not stable. that error occurs all of a sudden every hour or two This site was very helpful to me but until now i didn't have to ask for help but now i need help from professionals Thanks in advance -Rusty- Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/156632-kernel-panic-screenshot-added-help-please/ Share on other sites More sharing options...

Maniac10 Posted March 9, 2009 Share Posted March 9, 2009 I can't help you very much Rusty, but it seems that the kp is induced by your sound controller, cause it mentions IOAudioFamily there. I have no idea what's that but you should look in the audio section of the forum and see. Good luck! Rusty88 Posted March 10, 2009 Author Share Posted March 10, 2009 i've reinstalled both drivers of my pci sound blaster audigy 4 and onboard sound card this morning. both are recognized but eventually i got this kernel panic again. i'll try using onboard sound card as output card and see if that helps. thanks for help so far. Rusty88 Posted March 11, 2009 Author Share Posted March 11, 2009 UPDATE : - problem probably solved. Since i removed my pci audio card from computer i had no kernel panics. So far 8+4 hours uptime. So if anybody encounters this problem you know the solution. Use onboard audio (worse quality but meh).
