To begin my system was ridiculously stable under 10.5.5 and I didn't think all that much changed in the upgrade but it is needed as I do own a retail copy of iWork+iLife 09. Previous 10.5.5 was iDeneb on both.

System -

HP Pavilion Elite m9450f

Quad core 2.5

Nvidia 9800 GT 1GB

Asus IBPL MB

8GB Ram

1TB Seagate HD

Sata DVD writer (no idea who made it)

HP Internal removable HD 750gb (Personal Media Drive) USB

Built using the iPC DVD

Problems:

-50% Shutdowns turn off the monitor but the PC remain running.... So far I've tried the Shutdown kext fixes with moderate success but not not 100%

-Lock ups ... This is as unpredictable as can be. I get a 100% hard lockup cant do anything. I more often than not see this when playing World of Warcraft. I notice this happens mostly after playing a few hours then it seems to chain happen. Considered it may be an overheat issue but it is mac specific if I run under Vista I will not lock.

- Screen sleeps in the middle of things... OK this is my biggie issue HELP! In the middle of playing WoW the screen just goes into sleep mode. This often happens in the middle of things so it isn't inactivity. I have zero idea here what is causing this! Any help or even thoughts would be appreciated.

- TM Backups will not backup to a partition on the same physical drive as the OS. Returns an error that the network can not be found.

Custom Rig

Gigabyte P35 Rev2.1

Intel Q6600 Quad core

Nvidia 9600 GT

8GB 1066 Ram

2 x 1TB Seagate Barracuda's

Lite-on DVD writer

eSata Drives

- TM Backups ... Hasn't worked since 10.5.6, won't backup to same physical drive or the 2nd one and gives the same error as the above.

- VM Fusion Only sees 2 processors even though this is a quad core.

- VM Fusion Graphics performance is meh at best

- Sharing ! Actually a semi issue on both, even my Macbook pro has issues using finder to connect to the systems and sharing drives. Often telling me I'm connected as Guest even though I've entered credentials.

Any help on any of the issues is much appreciated.
