JonFullmer
My work laptop is a Lenovo T500. I've got Universal 10.5.6 running on it. I've got Ethernet working. Video "works", but no QE, nor can I get my max resolution (neither ATI Mobility HD3650, nor the Intel Mobile 4). Sound doesn't work either. And, as it's an Intel 5100/5300, I don't have wireless, either. I'm seriously considering physically replacing the wireless card with something that, by default, will be recognized as an Airport. This would seem to indicate an Atheros card, but is there a specific model? Also, is there anyone that can confirm that the T500 uses a miniPCI-e? Finally, is this approach even going to be worth the effort, or should I just go with a USB solution and live with something sticking out the side? Synaesthesia
Most people get a Dell 1390 or 1505 Wireless internal card - Broadcom chipset. Works perfectly. Regards, markdude Nope. After installing the Intel 82566MM patch, it worked fine. Ethernet was never a problem. I did finally get wireless working by installing an actual Airport Extreme card. If you put a very thin strip of duct tape over pin #20 (on the smooth side, count from the edge with the smaller group; it's the 10th one over), you can install it in the miniPCI-e slot that's supposed to house the WiMax card. I didn't use the WiMax antennas, though. I rerouted the antenna cables from the Intel 5100. markdude
Very nice. First of all I solved my Ethernet problem, just needed to refresh connections under Network on settings (Apply Etherenet.) Second, You did a piece of work there. Can you see the difference from outside computer? How much was the cost of this wifi addon? Third, check this out http://www.s10lenovo.com/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=1793 Someone with Lenovo writes he activated almost all functionality, but I guess I'm missing something..
