HOMM5 + Exp. works

I got HOMM5 1.6 working on the mac, currently only 1.5 is supported.

I installed the 2 expansion with the newest updates and they work too.

The problem is, if you want to play homm5, hammer of fate or tribes of the east you will need to change the info.plist so the path to the expansion is correct, and the preference name should be different too.

 

On windows you have alias for each game, how would you do this on a mac inside the cider app?

 

I used the official cider from HOMM5 1.4.1 to update to 1.6 and the 2 expansions.

 

Oh and I use my own HOMM5 game it is the multi5 version (eu), once you updated to 1.6 you can start playing, there are no more "where is the DVD question". On the none eu version they still ask for the DVD upon playing. So no crack needed for the eu version.

 

So if anyone have any ideas how to play each expansion without needing to change the info.plist, it would be appreciated.

Say I am unable to save, everything works 100% but when I want to save, its like it can't find the folder or something.

I see all the save files, and I can open all the save files, but it is unable to save.

 

Does anyone know a fix or work around.

 

It says "Kann keine Speicherungsdatei erzeugen" = unable to create save file. It saved my profile and everyting but not the "save game file".

 

P.S. The missions gets saved, like mission 1, mission 2 etc. Profile name is "David" just incase someone asked if I have spaces or illegale name in my profile.

There is something in the "H5_Game.exe" which will not let me save the game.

 

I am able to save the game now, but I replaced the version 1.6 with 1.5.1 of the H5_Game.exe, but I kept a copy of it incase I need it sometime.

 

Now we know why the game was never updated to 1.6, because of the save bug, maybe I can do the same with the expansions, use a lower updated version.

 

Bug messages:

HOMM5 v1.5 "Game Saved" the way it should be

HOMM5 v1.6 "Unable to create save file"

Hammer of fate 2.1 "Unable to create save file"

Tribes of the East 3.0 "Not enough room on harddisk"

 

Apparently the game thinks there is no more room to save the game file, but the missions and the profiles get saved.
