I have decided to give up on windows and try x 86. So Im not going to have a dual boot. I've downloaded the live cd iso, burned it to a cd, and place the tiger-x86-flat.img on another harddisk(not external/usb/etc). I booted from the ubuntu cd but I cant access my harddisks. neither from the terminal nor from the gui. I get the message that hda/hda1(no matter what value of hd something) isn't a directory.

I have two hd's, one which im going to install the x86 and the other is the one with the image.

both are formatted with ntfs filesystem.

You're going to want to mount them.
