So this is basically a story first, and I'll end with what work(ed/s). As the only two builds for Leo I have are Kaliway and iAtkos 5i (Working on getting iDeneb as well) I'll just say that Kaliway won't even boot on the laptop, and as the same DVD was used to install Leo onto another box, I know the DVD is fine. Also, this post will be edited as this evening goes on and I work on this further. That said, here we go...

Downloaded iAtkos 5i and popped it in and it boots up first time. Now, I sit here and think to myself there's no way that this can possibly be this easy. But, For the initial try, all went well.... Until reboot. I found I had misread the read me for the installer and used incompatible options in the customize menu. Not the first time, so I decided ok, I'll just restart from the DVD and try it again. Wrong. Rebooted from the DVD and get past the gray Apple screen (First intsaller I've EVER seen do that, btw) and onto the light blue that SHOULD fade into a dark gray before the background shows up... and it stops. No kernel panic, no gray screen of death saying i need to reboot. Just stopps. As any who know how the Dell system Bios' are set up are already painfully aware, there are very few controls that we can use for this. But, for testing, I tried disabling all my network cards (Onboard NIC, MiniPCI, and Modem). Restarted from the DVD again. Same result. I checked in the Bios what the level of my laptop's battery was. Charging, but with only a 96% charge. I remembered that the first time I tried it, the battery was fully charged, so I reset my Bios settings, and waited on the battery to charge. Again, I restarted from the DVD and only go tto the blue screen. I decided to experiment for a moment and went and grabbed my JaS 10.4.8 DVD and used the Disk Utility in it to format the drive. After rebooting from the iAtkos DVD once again, I actually got into the installer. After re-reading the Read me file, and the descriptions of each of the options under the Customize menu, I installed again and it worked... until I tried to install my USB Wireless. Mounted the DMG, ran the 10.5.x installer for the Wireless and it was unable to finish completely. Trying to do it again only opened Installer long enough to see the icon appear in the dock before it closed. Figured I needed to repair my disk permissions, so I tried opening Disk Utility (Since i didn't want to pull out the terminal and do it). Disk Utility had the same effect. I decided it was time for a restart, which proved to be the wrong thing to do. After restarting, I got to the gray apple screen, ending with endless reboot and no Kernel Panic or any other errors. So, back to the install DVD once again. And this time, the same problem getting as far as the blue screen and no farther. The laptop hasn't left the charger or had anything change about it other than that failed install for the USB Wireless. I decided to just start from scratch, and grabbed my JaS 10.4.8 DVD again and used it to format the drive once more. After that, the iAtkos DVD booted up again as it was supposed to. I used the disk utility in it to re-format the disk just for safe measure and installed once again only choosing a different kernel (voodoo instead of TOH). This brought me back to the endless reboot once again, which is where i'm at right this second.

Ok. Now that this is posted, I'll make a couple of general notes at the bottom and then get back on getting this to work.

In case anyone is unaware, the B130 (Also 1300) has the following onboard:

Intel GMA915 Graphics

Sigmatel HDA 9200 Audio

Intel Celeron M 1.4Ghz Processor

3x USB 2.0

Dell Wireless 1370 (Broadcom 4318 Chipset)

Broadcom 44x Ethernet

Stock is 256mb ram (Mine has 1Gb ram currently)

Some things that I would like to note here:

Airport works flawlessly with this.

Audio registers the HDA but doesn't work on any port (Onboard speakers or headphones jack)

Graphics reads as Intel with 64mb Shared System Memory (GMA 900 if I can set it up right) and QE/CI work when and if they feel like it. If anyone has a patch or workaround for this, please share it with me?

Ignore what was here before. Get this, the iAtkos DVD won't boot on my B130 unless I format the HDD to GUID. :pirate2: But... Once it is formatted GUID, I can easily boot from the DVD. Doing a re-install to include a missed check for the PS/2 stuff. I'm a D :) s. But anywho....

Ok. Now that I've erased the disk again...

Customization options selected:

Main System (Duh)

PC EFI V9

AppleDecrypt

SMBIOS EFI-Air

Voodoo Kernel

Stock ACPI Modified

Disabler.kext

PS/2

Both Intel SATA drivers (HDD is ATA DVD/CD-RW Combo drive reads as SATA on my laptop)

Laptop Battery

ext2fs (I develop with Linux and use the EXT3 filesystem so this is optional for you)

NTFS-3G (My external hard drive has an NTFS partition so this is again optional)

I selected all of the Network drivers just because I'm weird like that. Only select the one you need/want. If you dont' know, select them all.

Total Installation size: 5.2Gb

Now, I'm going to suggest caution if you choose to update your system using Software Update this way, as when I did it, it kinda died on me. If you have Pacifist, then you can download the 10.5.6 Update from Apple and use Pacifist to install the main system update and leave out the System.kext that causes issues with the kernel, and if you know of anything else to leave out, then please post and let us know. I'll be experimenting with that over the next couple of days. Also, this does NOT enable QE/CI. I've tried every Intel GMA driver included and none of them work at enabling the GMA 900 (910/915) graphics properly. I'm looking for a solution to this.

Also, if you have success with another set of options that doens't give the issue with Software Update, please post it to help others out. Hope this helps out some other people. Good luck all.

Thank you for this. I have the Inspiron 2200 which is exactly the same setup as this and I am installing now to see if this works it will not work, just the blue screen. BTW I see your sig says QE/CI enabled w/o the paperclip. I am using the paperclip right now and was just wondering how you were able to get it to work. Thanks
