Long Story Short -

Has anyone had issues with similar hardware -

Processor: AMD Sempron 3000+ (SSE, SSE2, SSE3, MMX (+), 3DNow! (+) ) ~ 1.8ghz

Chipset: nForce 250 (southbridge nForce MCP) (no idea what motherboard kexts to use :) )

RAM: 768mb

Graphics Card: ATI Radeon 9550/x1050 series - AGP and 128mb

Audio: Realtek AC97 (no probs at all)

Wireless: Ralink MIMO Wireless LAN (no kexts on dvds)

Any idea what kext is at fault in this image of the kernel panic?

Does anyone know how i can add extra kexts to my dvds. Thanks!!

Hey i believe I have a few issues with kexts on the iDeneb and kalyway dvd -

I originally downloaded kalyway 10.5.2 to install on my brothers AMD machine to use the iphone SDK, which it did without any issues :) . Unfortunately the iphone SDK requires 10.5.5 so i after aaaages trying to update the AMD from 10.5.2 I figured it was easyest to just install iDeneb with 10.5.5 which also when flawlessly. So both the dvds are fine, the problem is, being my brothers PC i can't use it frequently... So the other option was to install leo on my (much inferior) AMD PC.

My specs are

Processor: AMD Sempron 3000+ (SSE, SSE2, SSE3, MMX (+), 3DNow! (+) ) ~ 1.8ghz

Chipset: nForce 250 (southbridge nForce MCP) (no idea what motherboard kexts to use :) )

RAM: 768mb

Graphics Card: ATI Radeon 9550/x1050 series - AGP and 128mb (probably the issue)

Audio: Realtek AC97 (no probs at all)

Wireless: Ralink MIMO Wireless LAN (no kexts on dvds)

I found myself an old 40GB ide hdd (set up as master) and some more ram and booted iDeneb - which kernel panics right at the start - The kernel panic image. So i gave kalway a go and things went smoothly, so iDeneb must be missing some kexts. I setup my hdd to take leo and installed using this config -

sleepkernel (intel/amd/sse2/sse3)

i didn't know what do to about my gfx card because at first i didn't realize it was part of the x1050 series so i just grabbed them all - maybe not so much of a good idea.

Ati_Radeon

AppleNForceATA -not sure if this was right

Patches:

AMD_1052_Patch_test_1

-legacy flag

It installed fine and rebooted but it resulted in a very similar kernel panic to the iDeneb, right at the start. I figured just guessing my kexts won't help much, did a little research and reinstalled with a few changes -

for graphics just NATIT_For_X1000_series and X1000Series.

AMD_1052_Patch_test_2 < number 2 instead

-legacy flag

and for the mobo i just chose everything but silicon image which was

AppleNForceATA

AppleOnboardPCATA

AppleVIAATA

AppleGenericPCATA

Success (sorta) ! no kernel panic :D . But it booted into a black screen... graphics kexts not running properly so as kalyway advises:

at root type mount -uw /

and /movevideodrivers

then it will be prompt to move video drivers by class ( nvidia ; ati ; or intel gma) voila!

Did this (for all nvidia ; ati ; and intel gma) and at last it booted into the leo setup app (with no nice welcome video :( and just a grey background so graphics kexts are still causing problems). Anyway, set it up and Leo ran (ish) - lots of graphical glitches and there was only 1 supported resolution - 1024x768. System profiler says i have 4gb ram but it the graphic card is telling the kernel it's a 9550 which is a positive.

Right, so i rebooted to grab the kexts for my wireless and find some proper graphics kexts and when trying to boot into Leo i got the kernel panic i'd been having before. No way around it - no singer user, no safe mode, no Ignore all boot config.

So from all this i'm guessing the graphics kexts on both kalyway and iDeneb aren't right. So is there anyway to edit the iso with new kexts? Is it even the graphic card at all? maybe mobo kexts ?

I'm sorry it's a lot to read; I sorta documented every little thing i changed, but thanks for reading.
