Rip Tokes Posted February 14, 2009 Share Posted February 14, 2009 Ok. Hello all! Somebody has to know what's going on with my comp. It all started when I tried to use my usb hd to install Mac Os. Jas 10.4.8 / Kalyway 10.5.2 /Leo4Allv4 have all managed to load fine, but with one major problem. NO WIFI! After weeks of trying various versions and reading threads I came to the conclusion that the problem with wifi was that the card (AtherosAR5007) wasn't actually being turned on until I booted Vista. So after coming to the conclusion that I have to use a dual boot process now we get to my real question....... The only version of the several I've tried that even recognizes my internal hd was leo4allv4. Problem is disk utility freezes (SCREEN BLURS WITH DIAGONAL LINES AND COLORS) when trying erase the partition I've created. It's never crashed while trying to partition or erase. I've been creating the partition in windows first tried several programs and methods. Leaving it unallocated/changing it to hfs even using different partition softwares etc.....all the same. The ONLY thing I haven't attempted was making the new partition ACTIVE.....I'm worried that if I make it active and still wont install I wont be able to use my comp. after. Hopefully someone has and idea....I know this must either be treatable or just an error on my part....I've spent over a month getting into all this MAC ON PC stuff, but am still very much a noob so need some help. If I could just get installed on the internal hd I know I could get it to boot. It recognizes my cards when installed on the external, just can't turn them on. If it helps with the advice I'd be willing to wipe the internal and start fresh with mac os and afterword use my recovery to reinstall vista on a new partition. So just someone point in the right direction PLEASE! THANKS!
